Research and Evaluation
An Overview of WISELI Research and Evaluation
Research and evaluation are integral to the development and refinement of WISELI's initiatives and objectives. A team of experienced researchers and evaluators, using both quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection, are working collaboratively and in parallel to address questions regarding the experiences of women and men on campus, barriers to achieving success, and initiatives to improve the climate for all.
Highlights of key research and evaluation activities include:
- Collecting baseline and post-grant data about women's and men's experiences on campus;
- Completing in-depth anthropological and discourse analysis studies;
- Conducting annual "Issues Studies" on pertinent research questions that need investigation;
- Collecting indicators about tenure, start-up packages, space, and other resources;
- Providing formative feedback about the interventions that WISELI undertakes and about WISELI as an organization;
- Providing summative data about the attainment of specific grant objectives; and
- Disseminating the results in reports, publications and presentations.
