Eve Fine received her PhD from the the History of Science Department at UW Madison. Her dissertation, "Pathways to Practice: Women Physicians in 19th century Chicago," examines women's entry into the medical profession in the 19th century. Her broader research and teaching interests include the history of women as practitioners of science and medicine, the history of women as subjects of scientific research and/or theories, and the history of women as recipients and purveyors of medical advice. 

As a researcher for WISELI, Eve relies on her historical background and training to identify research literature on women in science that pertains to WISELI's initiatives, to disseminate current research to the UW Madison community, and to develop content for WISELI's workshops for department chairs and search committees. Eve is responsible for developing and administering WISELI's workshops, coordinating the Celebrating Women in Science and Engineering Grant Program, and maintaining WISELI's online "library."
